New joiners to the Bloggers Circle

I would like to welcome two new joiners to the Bloggers Circle this week.

Stephen Fleming is a journalist, writer and media consultant with Copythatworks Ltd – a Kent based compStephen Flemingany that provides copy-editing services. His blog, Rag reader, ‘looks at the news so you don’t have to’. It combines photography and video well and covers a wide array of news stories – from Boat Saves Shark, the return of Spotted Dick to the menu in South Wales and the ever-popular diving Eduardo. His blogs and short and punchy – like a series of News in Briefs.

Stephen appears to be new to blogging – having started this month but he’s certainly giving it a good go with over 56 posts in September. He currently lists Guido Fawkes, Iain Dale, Pickled Politics and Media Guardian in his blog list, so we will hope to help him broaden his list of favourites over the next few weeks!

Matthew Taylor’s introduction to the Bloggers Circle makes the Bloggers Circle the most popular blogging initiative amongst people called Matthew Taylor in Europe – and the third most popular blogging initiatives for Matthews outside the bible. He describes himself as ‘a Twentysomething lawyer with interests in arts, music, philosophy, politics, and sci/tech.’.

Matthew has been blogging since December 2008 and has months of hyperactivity (he posted 150 times in August and 231 times in April). He regularly blogs about religion, culture media and sport and has recently taken Mary Honeyball MEP to task for her lack of transparency in lending support to ebay’s dispute with LVMH. His recent introduction to a blogpost “I find the frequency with which illiberal positions are supported by personal testimony and anecdote, often as an alternative to argument, puzzling” will stand him in good stead with the bloggers circle.

Welcome to you both. Get stuck in, network with other bloggers and don’t hesitate to suggest ways that we can improve what we do.
