Well done, the Press Complaints Commisssion.
It has launched an inquiry into the alleged payments by newspapers to Alfie Patten and his parents. Now is not the time to quibble about the remit of the inquiry, whether it will be conducted in a timely manner, whether the PCC has the necessary powers to find out the truth or even how many inquiries the PCC needs to conduct on this issue before it considers whether it is sufficiently influential on editors.
The PCC should be congratulated for responding quickly to an area of real concern to the public.
